I just got a couple of these from ebay: 281945486708 and they worked fine on a recent Nomad mod.
Additionally, the new adapter actually outputs 9.25V by my measurements, which nudges us a bit further into the charging circuits input voltage range, Not including tools & misc parts I already owned.

To bypass the 12v into 5v like you have done with the wire, does this ground pin 3 of the chip or does it push 5v into the chip, the reason I ask is that I have received a newer revision in where the chip and resistor is located somewhere else so if it’s gnd I can use any gnd point. It does help to diffuse the red charging LED a bit (which is very bright), but the green LED is surprisingly dim – not the lens’s fault, but still disappointing.

The screen you posted is sold out. I did this mod in a battery pack and I needed to bridge ground and B-. Note: The buck and charging circuits were purchased as a single combination device.
Use some electrical tape to secure the wires in place so they don’t get in the way of any screw holes or posts.
Using masking tape and paper towels, I made a smock to protect the rest of the board from dust and debris while I ground down the side of the port. If you paid for any part of it, you were cheated.

But the GG dons’t have any composite output from the video systems.
After a few nostalgic months of gaming on-the-go using a refurbished rechargeable pack, the novelty of having an “authentic” setup was starting to fade, mostly due to the impracticality of having to carry and attach the tumor of a battery pack it uses (I guess 10-year-old Michael was less fazed by it). This mod really only works with Japanese Mega-drive games since they use the same NTSC Video standard as our US games. For anyone wondering about the numbers printed on the cells, these are the cells’ dimensions. The inclusion of the AV port is the key to this mod. Just a black screen.
The package shape of these particular LEDs allows them to lie pointing downward, so the flat backing will be flush with the top of the screw hole they’ll sit in. I think you’ll get more screen time with the bypass. Crazy about the time trial though, I’ve no idea how you’re getting such good efficiency with the original LCD, but to be fair I hadn’t tried my battery with the original LCD (it was broken, so that was the first thing I replaced). The “existing conditions” from the previous mod – the blue circles are where cuts were made in the previous version of this mod. I just finished this mod on my nomad and it turned out perfect! This rule breaks down for charging batteries. The negative terminal was simple to remove, and having it out of the way helped with removing the positive terminal.
I installed the LCD into a second system so I still have the first unmodded unit, but I wonder why this had such sharply reduced battery life…. Have any way to full screen. This mod really only works with Japanese Mega-drive games since they use the same NTSC Video standard as our US games. I found that the ribbon almost peeled off. the rest of the area is called “overscan”.

Thanks! There are other sites that can explain it far better than I, but at its simplest, the balance charging circuit works by varying the voltage and current to each cell in a cycle to recharge them evenly — you can’t charge a LiPo battery without one of these circuits or you’ll ruin it.
