tried using the same cat7 cable to connect my laptop to the modem, that worked fine, had a green light and internet worked.

I have all 3 cables in: Power, Ethernet and Coax. Press J to jump to the feed. When it resets it holds a solid orange light for about 2 minutes, but it still doesnt work, and then it just starts blinking again. I've tried resetting it, unplug everything plug back in. It should give the Hub an IP address via DHCP like everything else. But maybe there is something wrong with the hub or the modem. Glad your moving now and welcome to the community!
I even tried to connect to the hubitat portal through my iphone/safari, and it still couldnt discover the hub. I just bought this stuff yesterday so I assume isn’t broken.
Plus there should be two lights on either side of the port and good hardware can tell a lot from the lights. But it shouldn’t be overly long.
In the modem by chance can you see all the DHCP or IP address lease options? Yeah, turns out the wiring got messed up in the attic and had to call out someone to replace it.

Learn what the LED lights on your X1 TV box indicate about your device status. Title pretty much. You can also use Xfinity MyAccount (Web|iOS|Android) and xFi app (iOS|Android) for product and account support. But sometimes and with certain hardware it can blink at different rates to show issues.

Anyway, that worked, it eventually connected to the hub and now discoverable. Now they are sending a tech out but not for a couple of days. An orange blinking light should mean that the hub is connecting at 10/100 which is what the Ethernet port on the hub is.

After that, turn on your modem and then the router. Watch, they will get here and say it's a bad Xfi gateway and they will need to ship a new one that will take another week.

Did you ever get a resolution for this issue? I assume you can’t running anything odd on your browsers like blockers or anything, just have to ask. Still, getting an orange internet LED? Thank you for your persisitent... should have done the obvious myself, I guess the orange light at the top left corner of the modem put me of the obvious route. I've tried resetting it, unplug everything plug back in. Call for a tech visit for service all out. Can you attempt to connect another device like a laptop to the Ethernet port on the modem? I believe the first time you try to use the hub it needs some extra time to get itself ready.
